Weekly Market Commentary - 2 December 2022

Financial markets were boosted by the chair of the US Federal Reserve signalling a slowdown in the pace of its interest rate hikes. US treasuries rose and equities rallied sharply after Jerome Powell said the bank is likely to moderate its rate increases. Elsewhere it is hoped that China will belatedly begin living with Covid and start to reopen. This will be a welcome boost to the global economy.
